"Climate change is deeply intertwined with global patterns of inequality" - The World Bank Group
The most vulnerable sections of society such as women, children, person with disabilities, indigenous people, migrant workers, socially marginalized groups and those from rural, economically backward areas, contributed least to the crisis but bear the brunt of climate change.
AIM is an impact investing platform to mobilize finance for ventures led by and addressing challenges facing the most vulnerable sections of society in the Indian Sub-continent.
Our mission is to develop an ecosystem of impact ventures dedicated to solving some of the most pressing issues plaguing our energy, water and food systems. We prioritize investing in ventures led by women and marginalized sections of society who are excluded from the mainstream financial system and institutions.
By 2027, we will be supporting 100 ventures working at the intersection of gender issues, climate, livelihood and economic opportunities touching 50 million lives with more than 50% of them from low-income background. It's our endeavor to strengthen social entrepreneurship and impact investing at the grassroot level.
Commercial financial institutions are averse to investing in ventures and projects offering lower returns of investments, having high risk profile due to specific geographical location, socio-political instability, lack of institutions and infrastructure.
Therefore, we work closely with the impact funds, family offices, corporate foundations and other impact-first organizations deploying capital to optimize financial returns, social benefits and environmental impact.
In addition to our investors, we partner with fund managers, market players, policy makers working in high impact areas to create an ecosystem that delivers triple bottom-line.
We invest in ventures having product or service that is scalable and solves real issues, having significant social-environmental impact.
